Drawings and plans, ca.1922-1957, ca.1922-1940 (bulk dates).

Collection consists almost entirely of plans and drawings for mantelpieces, though there are some blueprints, as well. Most of the plans are ground plans, that is, bird's eye views of mantels. Some plans also include elevation or section (profile) drawings. As well, there are drawings of lighting fixtures, metal balusters and banisters, a sign for Mount Vision, two weathervanes, an andiron, a brass light switch plate, a pine table, and full size drawings for a settle. Also in the collection are plans for paneled rooms and a working drawing for the construction of a fireplace, the flue of which was to use Todhunter dampers. A few photographs of lighting fixtures, a bell, a doorknocker, and a chair are included as are some trade cards and catalogs of weathervanes, lighting fixtures, and colonial hardware. Many of the plans came in envelopes, and the envelopes have been retained. Any important data on the envelopes which was not also found on the drawings has been added to the item description. Most of the plans are on tracing paper, with a few on coated paper.
